Lauren Hill's mom, Lisa: 'That one little girl from Indiana could cause so much ruckus'

Before Lauren Hill lost her battle to brain cancer, one of her biggest concerns was that people would forget. That they would stop caring.

That's why Saturday – the fourth annual Lauren Hill Tipoff Classic at Xavier University's Cintas Center – is so important.

On the surface, two women's college basketball games might seem commonplace, ordinary even.

It mattered to Lauren Hill. It was important then, and it still is today.

"One of the most impactful things that came out of Lauren's interviews was close to the end when we were still in the hospital," her mom, Lisa Hill, told reporters Monday at a press conference, "and her biggest concern was that that game – that one 'last' game – would be the last time people would think about pediatric brain cancer.
