MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - Jared Cushing hit home runs six and seven of the season to drive in five RBI and help Xavier to a 8-3 win in the series finale at No. 24 West Virginia.
After the Mountaineers took a one-run lead in the first, the Musketeers loaded the bases in the next frame, with Matt McCormick and Carter Hendrickson each getting hit by a pitch and Garrett Schultz taking a walk. Cushing's first home run of the day cleared the bases to put Xavier in front 4-1,
West Virginia picked up a run in the third to cut the lead back to two, 4-2, but an Andrew Walker long-ball, a two-run shot to right, extended the lead out to 6-2.
