It wasn't always a joy to watch, but Xavier found a way against the Hampton Pirates.
The No. 15 Musketeers (4-0) didn't inspire or awe in Monday's 96-60 win over the visiting Pirates (1-4) but did enough to prevail on what was a decidedly "off" night despite the appearance of the lopsided scoreline.
The game served as both programs' final on-campus game as part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational, which continues Thursday and Friday at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Per usual, senior guard Trevon Bluiett spearheaded the offense for Xavier Monday night. He finished with 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting.
