NEW YORK - Following a fourth-straight shutout, Xavier women's soccer picked up a second-straight BIG EAST Defender of the Week honor, with earning the nod from the conference offices on Monday.
Jakovich helped extend the Musketeers' shutout streak to 380 minutes with two more clean sheets this week. Xavier blanked Northern Kentucky, 4-0, and Cincinnati, 0-0, last week, outshooting the two squads by a combined 33-10 margin.
The sophomore played a team-high 84 minutes for a Xavier defense which didn't allow a single shot on net on Thursday against NKU, then played the full 110 minutes on Sunday, helping hold the Bearcats to just four shots on goal.
