LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Xavier women's soccer remained undefeated to open the season, using a pair of second-half goals to erase a halftime deficit and take the 2-1 win over Louisville and move to 2-0-1 on the season on Thursday evening.
The Cardinals were the aggressors on offensive in the first half, holding a 7-2 lead on shots in the first 45 minutes, including a look off a free kick that put Louisville up in the 25th minute, sending Xavier into the locker room trailing 1-0.
The Musketeers came out of the half on the offensive attack, taking four shots in the first minutes of the half, with Avery Lockwood finding the back of the net with a header, off a Rachel Dewey corner, to tie the game at 1-1 in the 52nd minute.
