FORT WORTH, Texas – There's an intensity required to win college basketball games on the road – forty minutes of fire that not even the world's greatest firefighters would know how to handle.
For the first time this season, Xavier went on the road and proved that putting together 40 minutes of toughness isn't unobtainable.
Sunday night it was the standard at Schollmaier Arena in a 67-59 win over TCU in the inaugural Big East-Big 12 Battle and it was the big fella – the bully on the low block – senior Tyrique Jones who lifted the Musketeers at both ends of the floor with a game-high 18 points and 14 rebounds on 9 of 12 shooting.
