CINCINNATI --- Xavier University freshman guard Edmond Sumner has been named to the Kyle Macy Freshman All-America Team, which is sponsored by CollegeInsider.com. Sumner helped Xavier record a 28-6 overall record, including a 14-4 BIG EAST Conference record, which was good for second place behind eventual National Champion Villanova. XU, which made its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance in 11 years, earned a school-record final Associated Press Poll ranking of No. 9.
Sumner, a unanimous selection by league coaches to the BIG EAST Conference All-Freshman Team, was selected Second Team All-BIG EAST by CBS Sports and Bleacher Report.
