CINCINNATI – Longtime Xavier golf coach Doug Steiner was honored by The First Tee of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as a Core Values Award honoree for sportsmanship on Thursday, March 24 at The Westin Cincinnati.
The 2015-16 season marks Steiner's 28th as the head men's golf coach at Xavier, a period that has included 34 tournament wins, eighth conference titles, five NCAA Tournaments and seven conference Coach of the Year awards. He has developed his golfers both on the course and in the classroom, producing 19 Academic All-Americans, 57 all-conference performers, 51 medalists, 12 conference players of the year and six conference rookies of the year.
