NEW YORK - After picking up his 10th single win of the season, Xavier men's tennis graduate student Diego Nava was named the BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Nava, originally from Woodland Hills, Calif., helped lead the Musketeers to a 6-1 team win over Villanova on Friday, moving the team to 10-5 overall and 2-0 against BIG EAST teams. Nava won his match in the No. 1 singles slot over the Wildcats' Josh Robinson, 6-3, 6-1. With the victory, Nava moves his mark in the top singles position to 10-1 on the season.
