If defense is about desire, then the Xavier Musketeers played a pretty undesirable basketball game on Tuesday night at St. John's.
"You can't go into games thinking you're just going to outscore opponents," head coach Travis Steele said at the post-game podium Saturday following a loss to UConn, but his Xavier team never got that message in a 93-84 loss to the Red Storm that sends the Musketeers to 11-4 overall and 4-4 in the Big East Conference.
St. John's had five players score in double figures and the Red Storm shot 52% from the field with 24 assists 34 made field goals to go with 11 3-pointers.
