INDIANAPOLIS – Shane Crutchfield from women's golf and Onya Edwards from track and field have been selected as nominees for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Both seniors recently wrapped up their Xavier athletic careers.
The awards program, established in 1991, recognizes student-athletes based the following criteria: academics, athletics, service and leadership. This year, a total of 511 women were selected as nominees across all three NCAA divisions.
A total of nine women were selected as nominees from the BIG EAST Conference with Xavier and DePaul each having two honorees.
