ORLANDO — At sunrise on Saturday, Xavier men's basketball was one of 32 NCAA Division I teams still standing, and when the sun rises again Sunday, they could be one of the final 16 still alive.
Xavier, an 11-seed in the 2017 NCAA Tournament's West Region, played No. 3-seed Florida State Saturday night. But whether or not they win has no bearing on the fact that few in Cincinnati thought they'd be here as recently as a couple weeks ago.
Given Xavier head coach Chris Mack's track record in March, no one should be surprised the Musketeers are in this position.
