Relief arrived Friday night, though, for Xavier University men’s basketball coach Travis Steele, who after a couple of months of missing out on priority recruiting targets, finally snagged his first verbal commitment of the 2021 class.
Cesare Edwards, a 6-foot-10, 210-pound forward from Hartsville, South Carolina, is the Musketeers’ first 2021 commitment – a position he was comfortable settling into despite only meeting one of Xavier’s coaches in person and never visiting the Musketeers’ campus because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
