Bluiett's Career Night Not Enough to Overcome No. 19 Cincinnati

CINCINNATI – A career night for Trevon Bluiett wasn't enough to hold off No. 19 Cincinnati as No. 24/22 Xavier fell, 86-78, in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout on Thursday. Bluiett led all scorers with 40 points after hitting his first 10 shots from the field, including eight three-pointers.

Xavier moves to 14-6 overall and remains at 4-3 in BIG EAST play after the non-conference tilt.
Bluiett's 40 points on 12-of-15 shooting, including going 9-of-11 from three, tops his previous career-high of 27 set against Colorado earlier this season.

Bluiett's performance marks the first time a Musketeer scored 40 or more points in a game since David West scored 47 against Dayton on February, 8, 2003.
