Two Xavier University men's basketball guards were named Thursday to the 2017 Naismith Men's College Player of the Year award preseason watch list.
Trevon Bluiett and Edmond Sumner joined the list of 50 players receiving preseason consideration for the honor. The list of 50 will be whittled down to 30 by Feb. 9.
According to a Xavier news release, their placement on the Naismith watch list marks the first time Xavier's had two players included on it in the preseason.
