Moments after No. 6 Xavier engineered a 78-70 comeback victory over Wake Forest in a Tuesday thriller at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, coach Chris Mack was asked about the mettle of his team.
A Wake reporter noted that the Musketeers seemed like a tough-minded bunch.
“We continue to learn about ourselves. It’s still early. We ended non-conference play but it’s only the second true road game that we’ve played. This was a much more difficult game for us than Michigan. We got comfortably ahead and we never got to the point where it was a one-possession game in the second half.
