WACO, Texas - Xavier baseball took a 4-3 lead into the final innings at Baylor, but a seven run seventh inning broke the game open in favor of the Bears, giving the Musketeers a 11-4 loss at Baylor Ballpark on Saturday evening. Xavier moved to 3-6 on the season, while Baylor moved to 9-4.
Baylor took a two-run lead in the second, then Xavier responded in the top of the third, evening the score at 2-2 after RBIs from Tyler DeMartino and Alex Helmin. The Bears added a run in the fourth, taking a 4-3 lead into the sixth inning when Jack Krumbach used a single to bring Luke Stephenson and Helmin home to give Xavier a 4-3 lead.
