The squeaks of sneakers and instructions by coach Chris Mack meant one thing Monday afternoon at Cintas Center: Basketball is back at Xavier.
The Musketeers held their first practice with a new-look roster featuring familiar faces like Trevon Bluiett, Edmond Sumner and J.P. Macura. They also unveiled a trio of newcomers in graduate transfer Malcolm Bernard and freshmen Tyrique Jones and Quentin Goodin.
The season-opening session was a welcome change from the six-month offseason.
“The offseason becomes long and we’ve had a lot of time since the Wisconsin game (in the NCAA tournament),” Mack said.
