CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball split the series-opening doubleheader with Seton Hall, falling in game one to the Pirates, 4-1, in seven innings, then taking the 6-1 win in the nine-inning second game.
In game one, SHU took a one-run lead in the top of the first, but the Musketeers pulled even in the second inning, sending the game to the fourth inning in a tied. A three-run frame for the Pirates in the fourth put SHU ahead, 4-1, which held through the rest of the seven inning game.
In game two, the game remained scoreless until a two-run homer for the Musketeers in the fourth inning.
