CINCINNATI - After falling in game one of Saturday's doubleheader following a late rally by Seton Hall, Xavier baseball bounced back to take game two and split the season series 2-2 with the Pirates.
In game one, Xavier took a lead on an Alex Helmin homer in the first inning, and made it a two-run lead in the fifth. SHU scored a run in the sixth, giving Xavier a 2-1 lead headed in the final inning of the seven-inning game. The Pirates scored six in the top of the frame to take a 7-2 lead, holding on to take game three and move ahead 2-1 in the series.
