CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball fell, 8-6, after rallying late against Indiana on Wednesday afternoon at Hayden Field. The Musketeers move to 30-19 overall on the season.
Home runs in the first and second innings game the Hoosiers a 3-0 lead headed into bottom of the second. Jared Cushing hit a solo home run in the third to cut the lead back to 3-1, but Indiana added runs in the third and fourth to take a 7-1 lead into the bottom of four.
Xavier responded with two runs of its own in the next frame, with Carter Hendrickson leading off with a single and Teddy Deters bringing him in with a two-run homer to cut the advantage back to four, 7-3.
