CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball fell in game two with Georgetown, 11-5, on Friday afternoon at Hayden Field. The Musketeers moved to 34-21 overall and 14-6 in BIG EAST play, currently sitting in second place in the league standings.
Xavier took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run from Matthew DePrey. The Musketeers held the advantage into the third, where the Hoyas scored a pair to move in front, 2-1. The Hoyas added runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth to build the GU lead out to 11-1.
The 10-run lead held into the bottom of the seventh, when Xavier posted four runs on three hits.
