OMAHA, Neb. – Xavier baseball begins play in the 2017 BIG EAST Baseball Championship on Thursday in Omaha, Neb., facing No. 3 seed St. John's at 3:30 p.m. in the opening game of the double elimination, four-team event.
XU, the defending regular season and tournament champions, rolls into the postseason on a four-game winning streak. The Musketeers have scored 43 runs in their last four games.
Two games will be played on Thursday, as XU meets St. John's in the first game. No. 1 seed Creighton meets No. 4 seed Seton Hall in the night cap.
