NEW YORK - Junior Anna Kostarellis was named the BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. The cross country runner recently won the Queen City Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Churchville, N.Y., native earns the honors for the first time in her career and is the first Xavier cross country runner to pick up the honors since Sept. 9, 2015.
Kostarellis won the 5K race at the Queen City Invitational in a school-record time of 17:07.80. The previous record was held by Maddie Britton who posted a time of 17:25.
