University of Wyoming senior Scott Carter won the triple jump Saturday at the Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Logan, Utah.
Carter, who won the event with a leap of 51 feet, 5.75 inches, was the only Wyoming athlete to stand atop the podium Saturday.
UW did have a number of athletes finish in the top eight in their events, however, including Carter's fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles.
Senior Jordan Charles finished third in the 110 hurdles and junior Ricky Faure (Rock Springs) was third in the 800; sophomore Jerayah Davis (Kelly Walsh) finished fourth in the 100 with a time of 11.
