Wyoming's senior long jumper earned her first trip to the NCAA Division I track and field championships by qualifying for the event at the West preliminary Thursday in Sacramento, California. Needing a top-12 finish to qualify, the Casper native came in sixth to earn her chance to compete for a national championship.
Davis' qualifying status was never really in question. Her first jump was good enough to qualify while her second jump — her best of the day at 20 feet, 5.75 inches — solidified her spot in the women's long jump finals June 6 in Austin, Texas.
