The University of Wyoming women's swimming and diving team got its season off to a winning start Friday with a 176.5-123.5 victory over Northern Colorado in Laramie.
The Cowgirls won seven individual events, led by Karla Contreras taking the top spot in both the 1- and 3-meter diving events, and two relays.
Other individual winners for UW were Lainee Jones in the 200 free, Sani Carsrud (Gillette) in the 50 free, Katelyn Blattner in the 200 back, Olivia Staver in the 500 free and Hannah Mclean-Leonard in the 100 fly.
