University of Wyoming senior libero Madi Fields was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping the Cowgirls sweep both Nevada and San Jose State last week. It's the second time in the past three weeks Fields received the honor.
Fields had 22 digs in the sweep of Wolf Pack and added 12 more in the sweep of the Spartans. She averaged 5.67 digs per set as the Cowgirls (15-7, 9-1 MW) extended their winning streak to seven matches. Wyoming travels to Fort Collins on Tuesday to take on No. 16 Colorado State.
