The University of Wyoming volleyball team received one first-place vote and was picked to finish second in the Mountain West preseason coaches' poll released Wednesday.
The Cowgirls, who finished second last season (17-14 overall, 12-6 MW) and advanced to the postseason for the first time since 1994, tallied 91 points in the voting. Defending conference champion Colorado State received the other 10 first-place votes and had 100 points.
Boise State and San Diego State tied for third with 75 points, followed by New Mexico (59), San Jose State (56), Fresno State (39), Air Force and Utah State (31 each), Nevada (25) and UNLV (23).
