Wyoming’s comeback attempt fell just short as Weber State went into UniWyo Sports Complex on Friday night and walked out with a 3-2 (26-28, 26-24, 25-18, 16-25, 15-11) win in the second round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship.
The neck-and-neck first set nearly went to Weber State when an 8-3 Wildcats run forced 24-21 set point. Wyoming answered back with consecutive kills from McMahon. The Cowgirls once again answered, trailing 26-25, with two more kills from KC McMahon before consecutive kills from Halie McArdle secured the opening set and initial momentum. McMahon once again led the Cowgirls with 26 kills.
