The University of Wyoming track and field team on Tuesday signed 11 student-athletes, including five who hail from the Cowboy State.
The in-state contingent consists of Cokeville sprinter Savannah Phillips, Cheyenne East thrower Cosette Stellern, Cheyenne South jumper William Nolan, Gillette jumper Marie Doherty and Laramie hurdler McCade Johnson.
Phillips is an eight-time state champion, winning both the 200- and 400-meter dashes each of her first three years with the Panthers. She also won the 100 as a freshman and sophomore.
Stellern, an all-state volleyball and basketball player, is the defending Class 4A state champ in both the shot put and the discus for the T-Birds.
