University of Wyoming junior Samantha Burke won the 100 backstroke at the Mountain West Championship on Friday in San Antonio, Texas, to help the Cowgirls remain in fourth place.
Burke set a new career mark with a time of 52.88 seconds to move into second place in the UW record book.
Burke also swam a leg on Wyoming's second-place 400 medley relay team along with Maria Harutjunjan, Hannah McLean-Leonard and Isobel Ryan.
Senior Kelly Sheldon was eighth in the 200 freestyle and Harutjunjan was ninth in the 100 breaststroke.
The Cowgirls finished the day with 657 points to trail Boise State (817), Nevada (736.
