LARAMIE — Considering the talent that surrounds him on the Wyoming wrestling team — including Bryce Meredith, the top 141-pounder in all of college wrestling — Dewey Krueger's new nickname is pretty impressive.
"We call him the G.O.A.T.," Wyoming sophomore Drake Foster said, using the abbreviation for "Greatest of All Time." "Montorie (Bridges) made it up."
Krueger has done more than just win matches to earn that nickname — plenty of Cowboys have done that. The 157-pound sophomore has been winning while wrestling well above his weight class. A week ago at North Dakota State, Krueger wrestled at 197 pounds, four weight classes heavier than usual, and won by fall in 1:42.
