Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Lomsnes and freshman defender Alyssa Murray tallied goals for Wyoming to beat Colorado State 2-1 on Friday afternoon in Fort Collins, Colo.
The victory over CSU clinches the third consecutive trip to the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Cowgirls are 10-5-4 overall and 6-4-1 in the conference.
“It’s always a battle when you play in a Border War,” Cowgirl soccer head coach Pete Cuadrado said. “The girls came out with great tenacity and followed the game plan. It felt good to seal our spot in the conference tournament. The credit goes to the team and their never say die attitude.
