Wyoming soccer loses 2-1 to San Diego State

The University of Wyoming soccer team dropped its fourth consecutive match Friday, losing 2-1 at San Diego State.

The Cowgirls (7-8-2, 3-5-1 Mountain West) struck first when Brittney Stark netted her team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 37th minute.

But the Aztecs (8-7-2, 5-2-2 MW) responded with two goals in the second half to extend UW's losing streak.

San Diego State outshot Wyoming 27-5 for the game and had a 10-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Cowgirls senior goalkeeper Georgia Rowntree took the loss despite stopping nine shots.
