The University of Wyoming men's swimming and diving team got first-place finishes from senior Wade Nelson and sophomore Scotia Mullin at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Friday in Houston, Texas.
Nelson won the 400 individual medley with a season-best time of 3:45.92 while Mullin defended his title in platform diving with a score of 393.20.
The two championships, combined with additional strong showings in the pool and on the diving board, helped the Cowboys increase their lead in the team standings. Wyoming finished the night with 568 points, with UNLV second with 524.
The Cowboys also got top-five finishes from Jack Herron (2nd, 200 freestyle); Kyle White (2nd, 100 breast; 3rd, 100 butterfly); David Murphy (3rd, 100 breast); Liam Holt (4th, 100 breast); Eric Oleson (5th, 400 IM); and Ryan Russi (5th, platform).
