Wyoming’s refurbished roster made it look easy on the offensive end during a 104-56 victory over Northern New Mexico on Tuesday at the Arena-Auditorium.
The Cowboys (1-0) shot 62.1% from the field and were 13-for-23 (56.5%) on 3-pointers in the opener against the NAIA Eagles (1-2).
Sam Griffin (23 points) and Akuel Kot (21 points) were a combined 14-for-19 shooting in their UW debuts to set the pace. The guard tandem were prolific scorers are Fort Lewis College and Tulsa, respectively, before transferring to play their final seasons for the Pokes.
“When you have two guys like that who can really score the basketball it just helps create a lot of things,” Linder said.
