The University of Wyoming announced on Saturday a major donation from the McMurry family toward construction of the university's new high altitude performance center
UW has now raised $18 million toward the project. With the project originally budgeted at $44 million, the university needs to raise a total of $24 million and the state of Wyoming will match $20 million from state funds.
The training center will officially be named the Mick and Susie McMurry High Altitude Performance Center.
"What we're doing is we're building a better university, a better Wyoming, and when students leave, we're building better country," Wyoming governor Matt Mead said at a press conference in Laramie.
