The University of Wyoming will send 11 track and field athletes to the NCAA West Preliminary Round beginning Thursday in Austin, Texas.
The Cowboys contingent is led by triple jumper Scott Carter, whose mark of 53 feet, 4.25 inches is the No. 8 mark in the West Region.
Jordan Charles will be making his fourth trip to the prelims in the 110-meter hurdles, while 800-meter runners Ricky Faure (Rock Springs) and Bryce Ailshie and hammer thrower Damon Unland will be competing for the first time.
For the Cowgirls, Audra DeStefano (Gillette) is competing for the fourth time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
