MENTAL FOCUS: Wyoming's volleyball team felt that its biggest weakness in 2014 was more mental than physical. The Cowgirls believe that at times they were inconsistent because of a lack of mental focus.
EIGHT SECONDS: To combat their weakness from last season, Wyoming coach Chad Callihan implemented a new mindset based on focusing on the next eight seconds — roughly the length of the average volleyball point.
PAYING DIVIDENDS: The new mentality worked well over the weekend, when UW beat No. 14 Ohio State, South Dakota and Butler to win the Rumble in the Rockies.
