The University of Wyoming Cowgirls have been tabbed to finish eighth in the preseason Mountain West soccer coaches’ poll, the conference released on Thursday. The Cowgirls return six starters and 16 letterwinners from last year’s squad that finished just shy of the conference tournament in ninth.
San Diego State was chosen to finish first with 112 points while San Jose State was picked to finish second with 111 points despite having the most first-place votes (five).
Senior Brittney Stark, an all-newcomer selection in 2017, is the top returner for the Cowgirls after scoring a team-high eight goals, including three game-winners.
