The University of Wyoming volleyball put away Northwestern State with a straight sweep (25-22, 25-16, 25-19) at UniWyo Sports Complex on Thursday night in the first round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship for the Cowgirls’ first NIVC win in program history.
An efficient offense guided the Cowgirls to the opening set win as they accrued a .379 hitting percentage. The Cowgirls also used key blocks to put pressure on Northwestern State, which swung five attack errors. That proved to be the difference in the first set.
The Cowgirls’ efficiency dropped in the second set, but so too did Northwestern State’s form.
