Indoor track season begins for Wyoming

The 2016-17 indoor season officially kicks-off for the University of Wyoming track and field team on Friday with the Power Meet at the Hager-LeBar Indoor Track in War Memorial Fieldhouse.

Abbreviated scheduled events in throws, jumps and short sprints will be featured. The meet will feature competitors from Colorado, Colorado State and Northern Colorado in addition to Wyoming.

Emelda Malm-Annan returns to the ring where she won the conference title in the weight throw as a freshman last season. She threw a school-record 64-feet, 3.25-inches in her collegiate debut at the Power Meet last season.

Ja'la Henderson, who also won the indoor conference championship as a freshman last season, returns in the long jump where she jumped 19-feet, 6.
