Former University of Wyoming volleyball standout Laura Beach was a Mountain West nominee for the 2017 NCAA Woman of the Year on Tuesday.
The Lakewood, Colorado, native was a three-time All-MW selection and finished her Cowgirl career as the program's leading career hitter (.372), fifth in blocks (438) and 12th in kills (982).
Beach graduated with a 3.96 GPA in kinesiology and health promotion and was a four-time Academic All-MW selection.
Beach, along with Fresno State cross-country and track athlete Annemarie Schwanz, is one of 58 Division I student-athletes nominated for the award.
