University of Wyoming sophomore Day Timberman (Kelly Walsh) went 39 feet, 10.75 inches in the triple jump Friday at UW's Power Meet to break a program record that had stood since 2000.
Timberman's record jump highlighted a strong showing by both the men's and women's teams. The Cowboys won nine events at War Memorial Fieldhouse while the Cowgirls won eight.
Sophomore Clay Carlson (Kelly Walsh) won the 400-meter run with a time of 50.7 seconds.
