Craig Bohl uses national signing day to advocate for UW athletics match

LARAMIE — Wyoming football coach Craig Bohl used Wednesday’s National Signing Day as a soapbox to plead for an $8 million appropriation of matching funds for UW athletics to be approved by the state legislature and Gov. Matt Mead.

It came one day after UW sent out a joint letter from Bohl, men’s basketball coach Larry Shyatt and women’s basketball coach Joe Legerski to “the people of Wyoming,” discussing the uses of the money, the top one being recruiting.

“I’ll be real clear about this: This recruiting class and the composition of our football team would not be possible without the generous contributions of our Cowboy Joe (Club members) and the generous match made by the Wyoming state legislature,” Bohl said.
