LARAMIE — The Wyoming volleyball team’s first win over a ranked opponent since 2002 left it with an emotional hangover Saturday afternoon.
After upsetting No. 14 Ohio State in their season opener Friday evening, the Cowgirls stumbled to four-point deficits early in the first and second sets against South Dakota.
Eventually, however, UW found its rhythm and strolled to a 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 victory at the UniWyo Sports Complex in its second Rumble in the Rockies contest.
“That was a pretty draining game emotionally (on Friday) and I just think that (was a) tough turnaround to get back out there and go this morning,” UW coach Chad Callihan said.
