University of Wyoming senior Jerayah Davis saved her best for last Friday at the Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Clovis, California.
Davis (Kelly Walsh) won the long jump title with a leap of 20 feet, 7 inches on her final attempt to defeat teammate Ja'la Henderson by one-half inch. Davis also had the fastest time in the 100-meter qualifying at 11.34 seconds.
Also Friday, Kirk Unland led the Cowboys to a 1-2-4 finish in the hammer throw with a winning toss of 205-11. He was followed by teammates Eric McArthur in second and Hap Frketich in fourth.
