Murdock, a Laramie graduate, fired a 13-under 203 to forge a tie with UCLA's Cole Madey, but Madey won a three-hole playoff to capture individual medalist honors.
Wyoming finished fourth as a team with a three-round total of 10-under 854, including a 6-under 282 on Tuesday for the low round of the day. UCLA won the event with an 841.
Also for the Cowboys, Dan Starzinski tied for 14th with a 5-under 211, Tyler Severin shot a 3-over 219, Carl Underwood carded an 11-over 227 and Sheridan native Kirby Coe-Kirkham had a 12-over 228.
