University of Wyoming junior Bryce Meredith placed fourth at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship on Saturday in St. Louis, Mo.
Competing at 141 pounds, Meredith earned an 8-4 decision over eighth-seeded Jaydin Eierman of Missouri in the consolation semifinals Saturday morning.
Then, in the third-place match, Meredith (35-8) was pinned by No. 2 Kevin Jack from North Carolina State. Meredith, who was seeded 10th, had defeated Jack 6-5 in the quarterfinals.
With the fourth-place finish Meredith earned All-America status for the second consecutive year. He lost in the championship match last season.
“I thought Bryce wrestled extremely well,” UW head coach Mark Branch said in a release.
